Chicken House Fire - Fleetwood Pond Road

Station 71 was alerted along with Station 87 Seaford,Station 77 Georgetown, Medic 102 and 200 with Station 81 Laurel Standby at Station 71 at 23:51 for a Chicken House fire on Fleetwood Pond road north of Concord Road. 71 Command responding with Chief Earl Chaffinch arrived on scene and found light smoke coming from the structure, Command was advised by the owner that the fire was middle way down of the house. Engine 71-9 was the first arriving unit and was advised to position on the west side with Engine Tanker 87 with Assistant Chief Brad Taylor as support with water and manpower to attack from the side entrance. Engine Tanker 71-2 arrived on scene and took position on the east side, 71-18 advised to position the tanker near the end of the building as that was where the fire had spread to. Engine 77-4 with Assistant Chief Mark Rogers arrived on scene to support Engine Tanker 71. With all crews working the situation was quickly brought under control. Ambulance A-71 provided rehab. Engine Tanker 81 arrived at Station 71 to provide standby for Station 71 and 87. Delaware State Fire Marshal FM-10 responded to the scene.
