Fire Prevention
Friday, October 3, 2014
October 2014 Station 71 ran a fire prevention day for Blades Elementary School. All in attendance enjoyed working with the students reminding them what to do in the event of their clothes catching fire. “Stop, Drop & Roll” and “Cover your Face” were among many things students excitedly shouted. Students went through a circuit of events checking out Rescue 71-6, hose operation and target practice from Brush Truck 71-1, a relay race detailing many of the most used tools, and back boarding from A-71. Some of the students and teachers took an opportunity and volunteered for back boarding. The day ended with returning the students to school with full lights and sirens. We at Blades Station 71 thank all those who participated to make this a success, and look forward to another safe and fun event next year with the school.
